I'm a life-long Catholic and have always attended what is now referred to as the extraordinary rite of Mass (also called "Traditional Latin Mass" or "1962 Liturgy"). I don't speak Latin but can read it (though I'm a bit rusty, especially with the vocabulary which isn't common in the liturgy). After becoming lukewarm-to-cold in the practice of my Faith I had a re-awakening since my late 20s and have learned much more in the last ten years than in my first twenty.
I'm also a computer programmer and created the website www.AudioSancto.org in order to disseminate the very excellent sermons of a handful of priests.

Is veneration worship? Peter: I added the paragraph beginning with "because" based on your comment. When teaching teens or talking with protestants I would take a 30 second detour to introduce them to the Latin terms, define them, explain that "worship, venerate, and honor" are typically swapped for the Latin terms, but in any doctrinal discussion I would skip the English and stick to the precise Latin terms. |

Is veneration worship? I only just now really looked at the question and answer you linked. The point in my answer is that "dulia," "hyperdulia," and "latria" are theologically defined and specific terms whereas "worship," "veneration," and "adoration" aren't. |

According to the scripture, when and how is the world destroyed? On the topic of fire but not the end of the world, part of the message of the Marian apparition at Akita, Japan (1973) is this: "If men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead." Link: is.gd/IDBR4G |

Is the threat of exposing sin a disqualifying event for a pastor? I made the assumption of it being confession; if it's outside of confession then it would be detraction. |

Is the threat of exposing sin a disqualifying event for a pastor? Again, speaking only in a Catholic situation, if a priest were to threaten to violate the seal of the confessional that needs to be brought to the attention of the bishop immediately. If you're concerned about the bishop not being helpful or even making matters worse you could appeal directly to Rome (though if you don't trust the diocese you won't want to try to go through anyone in your diocese for this). It has to be addressed by someone with jurisdiction in the matter, which is the local bishop and the Pope. |
