comment Christian view of why there are so many similarities between Quran and Bible?
@AffableGeek there is no doubt Islam uses Christianity and Judaism to prove itself. I know that already. What I really wanted to know, who the knowledge of Bible go to Muhammad. I thought christian would have already established that chain because they consider him a false prophet.

@H3br3wHamm3r81 your comments is basically a good speculation. By detail answer, I meant, they have sources that proves it was was indeed the case. Anyways not into arguments.

@H3br3wHamm3r81 I did not get a detail answer here, which I was hoping for. I do not think he was completely illiterate. This is what Muslims are told. I am sure he could read quran and even write. But he likely learned most of other religions by traveling and from his wife cousin. Although there is no direct proof of it. Anyways I thought christian would have a better perspective on this.

Quran 11:42 And it sailed with them through waves like mountains. Quran definitely talks about huge ways. Who said it was local flood? Muslim also believe the whole world was destroyed in Noah flood. He collected different cattles and species in that ship just like the bible says. We really consider Noah as second Adam.

@MarcGravell the reality is the flood is considered global in Islam (Muslims perhaps tried to reformed it but not really). Quran 11:44 The Ark rested on Mount Judi, it can only sit on the mount if it was a global flood. So this is exact copy of Bible. No alteration in this case.

But I would like to know some solid reasoning. Speculation is one thing that anyone can make.

comment What is God's shape or form?
@AffableGeek one should allow religion to be scrutinized by anyone. This question was asked from Athiest point of view and most importantly I wanted to compare Christianities concept with that of Islam, what was borrowed and what was not borrowed. To me this is a very valid question and can be /should be asked from any faith, not just Christians. I hope it is not too weird one. But if someone wants to prove God by defining his shape, then this is definitely a weird question :)

comment Does Christianity have any other books besides the Bible that the disciples use for following?
@PeterTurner I meant something that is considered holy that is not divine but adds to bible, narrates stories about Jesus Christ and can be used to strengthen knowledge and faith.

@JonEricson I mentioned Quran and Hadith as comparison. I am not looking for publication. Something that was written along side Bible or in those times which can be used for learning about Christianity and is considered holy.

No I am not talking about any recent book, I have seen watchtower :) I am specifically asking about a book that was written some 1500 years ago or so that is considered authentic and is considered a holy book, preferably by all brands of Christianity.
