When you see the lives and prayers of the founding fathers you know they were Christian in their origin, and prayed to the God of the Bible. That does not mean that people can't pray to whatever they want to pray to. The legal justification is easily procured from those documents. Furthermore, the burden of proof for overturning marriage as between a man and a woman, of which, even nature deems best for the furthering of the human race, is on the homosexual. Where does the homosexual claim his rights from? God?

When did I say that this is a Christian nation? I certainly did NOT say that, and do not contend that, so your comment is pointless. Second, you asked for a Christian justification for the legal prohibition of gay marriage in the US. This is a simple answer. Look at our founding documents. For example, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." That concept came from some place, and refers to a Deity.
