Should a woman cover her head in Christian worship? I am also troubled by the last line in the MH quote. Is he discounting what he has just said "and it was right that they should do so"? Seems strange. I have always read "But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God." as Paul telling people that contentions are not allowed, not that if you are contentious then you are suddenly okay. |

Is it valid to use grape juice at Communion? This is a question my church (Reformed Presbyterian) wrestled with for a while, we ended up with a mixed tray (I would prefer a common cup but oh well). I agree with what Narnian says, "The Fruit of the Vine" is what is prescribed. Never once does the Greek word for wine (oinos) appear in the related texts. |

Is it valid to use grape juice at Communion? Yes, but what is the biblical basis for your answer @DoubtingThomas? We can think a lot of things 'personally' and that is what causes a lot of problems in the Church. I do agree with you btw, just want a Biblical answer. |
