I am a British software engineer who has recently moved to the Netherlands. I have worked on radio testing of Bluetooth and other wireless communication standards, and currently work in the navigation software industry. I enjoy developing primarily using modern C++, although other languages and dialects occasionally creep in.
I maintain a small terminal server application called Paradice 9, which is used for distributed tabletop roleplaying support.

Why does laying hands not work on a non-believer I'm not sure I could answer this without disputing several statements in the question. But I will just say that you might want to read up on Reiki. |

What is a Christian's justification for a legal prohibition of homosexual marriage? @dcreight By that logic, Genesis shows by example that the intent of brothers is for them to kill each other in a contest over who can please God the most. I would submit that that is not the case, and that therefore it follows that we should not therefore use "but he did it first" as a logical argument. |

What is a Christian's justification for a legal prohibition of homosexual marriage? @svidgen I don't know if you're reading the same answer I am. The first paragraph, which is the actual answer content, seem reasonably accurate to my knowledge, and a cursory reading of the other answers on this very page confirms that. The social commentary below provides interesting context for the discussion and may well be framed from a secular perspective, but I can't see anything particularly "dumbfoundingly inaccurate". Would you be more specific? I'm sure Marc would be more than happy to remove or change any inaccuracies. |

Why do Christians seek to convert everyone? @theosis Beside what Seth J said, it's kind of hard to hate something that you don't believe exists, don't you think? |

Is illness sometimes a result of a sin? Really appreciated. I think it's fine to say that it's supported by the Bible that death and illness and all sorts of things entered the world due to the nature of sin. But to say that certain afflictions are due to certain transgressions, especially when we know the physical, "post-fall world" cause of said afflictions, goes a step too far, IMO. It's not philosophically different from saying that hurricanes hit the east coast of the USA because of gay people. |

Is illness sometimes a result of a sin? If one has unprotected sex and falls afoul of HIV, it's because the other partner had HIV and HIV is an infectious agent. This can occur even in a monogamous, married not-sinful relationship -- the partner could have inherited the HIV, or received it accidentally another way. To ascribe this to 'sin' as if you can avoid them just by avoiding actions deemed sinful is dangerously wrong. |

Under what conditions does the Bible support divorce? The sections you quote are explicitly for men divorcing women. What provisions are provided for women divorcing men? |

Is it correct to say “any effort using scientific way to prove or disprove God is in vain”? On your fourth point, if I understand you correctly: Let's say I cast a 6-sided die. It will either land on a 6, or it will not land on a 6. Therefore, the chance of it landing on a 6 is 50%. Right? |

Christian view of why there are so many similarities between Quran and Bible? As I understand it, the Quran attests that the Earth was created in six days and that Allah did not rest on the seventh. So there is a difference there that's being overlooked. |

Is masturbation a sin? I fail to see how this provides any kind of edict against anything, let alone masturbation. It is a prediction of the end times, not a sermon. (And, frankly, not that much of a prediction.) |

Can an atheist go to heaven? @Narnian Disagreement on this very point is why there are non-believers. An interesting conversation starter, for sure, but that's not what the comments are for |
