comment The Truth about Rapture
@laovultai True, but if God's Spirit dwells in us, and we are raptured, the presence of God in His people are also taken. That verse is even in context with the 2nd coming "For just as the lightning flashes from the east and shines and is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. ... Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and beat their breasts and lament in anguish, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

@laovultai I don't think Matt 24:31 speaks of the rapture, but of 2nd coming. The hinderer could be saints and holy spirit together, no?

comment When the Bible talks about wine does it mean alcoholic wine?
@ecesurfer Do you mean John 2:10? Where does it say the people were "already pretty happy"? The master tasted it and could tell it was "good wine", which by the way if it is like today is not defined by alcohol content, still it does not say here that Jesus drank any of that wine.

comment Is the “Dome of the Rock” the “Abomination of Desolation” spoken of by the prophet Daniel?
Some would also say the Greek word for generation in Mark 13:30 is interpreted as race or family, speaking of Jews. There certainly have been a few "foreshadowers" of the antichrist and its "abomination", including Nebuchadnezzar and his image, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, King Herod and the golden Roman Eagle he built at the entrance to the temple (Dan 11:31); all before Jesus spoke those words. Jesus said, as you quoted, "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains". The Jews were in Babylon at the time the Dome was built.

comment What did Jesus mean by saying “only a few find the narrow gate”?
Thanks. I made an edit. But as to repentance, Jesus says in Luke 13:3 But unless you repent, you too will all perish. and repeats it in verse 5. Jonathon Byrd has a good answer on that here too Is repentance required for salvation?

Right. I'm saying because of the Greek word that is used in Matthew, Jesus probably meant "shamem" to be translated as such; to make desolate. lexiconcordance.com/hebrew/8074.html

I don't study Hebrew or Greek much, but it looks like the Greek word used for Jesus' dialogue in Matthew is ἐρημώσεως - biblesuite.com/greek/2050.htm

@AndrewLeach Yes, and the OP seems to be under the impression of the prior.

comment Sinned when born?
I agree those aren't duplicates and the question is specific enough. He's asking "Why are we born as sinners?". I would just like to see where Quillion got this information, and from what doctrine, and from what doctrinal (if anything specific) answers he is looking for. Maybe he can post some references.

(or might be when He is revealed through the "two witnesses" .. just wanted to add that. God bless)

Ok, I really do think it supports it more than anything else, and I updated my answer with why. That's just my opinion atm.

It supports it well, but not full proof, as you said it doesn't exactly contradict a no-rapture belief. I had to remove my "almost certain" statement for that.

comment What scripture is used to support a “Pre-Tribulation Rapture”?
No, it doesn't have to mean that. If that picture of court is your basis, I'll just agree to disagree with you that it must not mean there is a pre-trib rapture.

He says to be careful because that day will come upon you like a trap, for it will come upon the entire earth. We will be trapped with nowhere to escape to..except into His presence.

I disagree. That would be redefining "escape", otherwise he would have said "endure". I also don't find it misleading. I think it does a good job at elaborating on the intended message. I would say Jesus could've meant to have the strength to escape the desolation of Jerusalem, but what He says to escape from is coming upon on the entire earth. Perhaps by strength, He means the strength to endure our sinful carnal urges (as in Rev. 3:10).
