Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @TRiG That's a figure of speech. |

Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @rpeg No, I guess I'm not explaining myself right. Different sects are still pursuing the same God, and that is the God in the bible. It doesn't matter how they pursue it, their beliefs or opinions or practices in worship, they are still pursuing the same "God". I don't know how else to explain it, sorry. |

Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @rpeg I know. I'm trying to tell you that in order for your assumption to be true, they would have to agree on these differences, but they don't. Therefore, you can't look at Christianity as a whole for this purpose because the different sects in question are not a whole, they are separate. |

Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @rpeg Christianity as whole? If there was a group that took every sects' definitions and beliefs and formed them into one, no matter how contradicting and ridiculous it would be, it would still be monotheistic, as they would still be worshiping the one God. |

Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @rpeg It's nonsense because that would require a group as a collective to participate in such acts. These different sects don't consider themselves, or rather their worship, as being affiliated with other sects of different beliefs. |

Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @rpeg I'm sure every sect would like it if the rest of the Christian world agreed with them and their belief system and all converted to their denomination, but that's just not going to happen, and we can't control it. To say that this means that all Christians function as polytheistic.. is nonsense my friend. |

Is Christianity functionally polytheistic? @rpeg I'm saying that individual definitions and beliefs don't matter. If a group or individual is in opposition to anything in the bible, then they are that much more off the point in their worship. |
