Software Developer, part-time pastor, and I raise chickens. Who can't love a chicken?
For Christianity.stackexchange.com, my religious background:
- Grew up in a Protestant, evangelical, nondenominational "Bible Church" (-1990)
- earned a M.Div at a Baptist Seminary (2008) and pastored a very small Baptist church (2004 - 2008)
- Currently serving in an Episcopal Church, and yes I did that site. (2008 - present)

Was there a reason Jesus came at the time he did? This is actually a duplicate of "Why didn't Jedus come at the time of the Flood" but I agree, it's not worthy of a Downvote. |

Among writers of the bible, how many are Jews and how many are Greeks, Aramics, etc.? All of them are Jews. Some of them spoke Aramaic and Greek - but everyone of them lived in the same region as the historical kingdom of Israel and had Hebrew blood. Jewish is technically the religion of the Hebrews, from which all Christians derive. |

Did the American Constitution and independence from England usher in the first full separation of Church and state? It was in there, but because it was in sup tags, it was hard to see. |

What is the basis of the argument that asserts that Open Theism is heretical? @HarryJamesFox If you found it useful (and I thank you), I'd appreciate it if you click on the green check mark next to the answer. That's the Stack Exchange way of saying, "This was the answer I ended up finding most useful.". Thanks! |

What is stopping Christians from having just one doctrine/interpretation? Welcome to C.SE. This is an okay answer - although I'd dispute both that "the books of the Bible were...selected in 397AD." and, more importantly that "Surely such leaders who actually lived so close to the apostles time would best know what the apostles taught." If that were the case - why was the church in Corinth so messed up, and why did Ephesus "lose its first love?" |

Do Rob Bell and Tullian Tchividjian represent sides of any prior Christian controversy? Welcome to C.SE. I see you've made some inetresting and substantive contributions so far, but I'd really like to invite you to our faq. What we do here is a little different than most sites - We're more like a seminary than a church. The actual opinion is far less interesting than the facts you use to marshall your case. So, please understand when I say this is the start of a well-supported answer, but its tone seems rather off. While I agree that Bell handles Scripture "loosely" at best, there are better ways to phrase it |

What is the basis of the argument that asserts that Open Theism is heretical? I don't disagree - I'm just trying to be fair to both sides. The primary point is that Open Theism implies a lot of heresy. This is meant as much as summary as anything else - there is a lot that could be said about any of these. |
