Software Developer, part-time pastor, and I raise chickens. Who can't love a chicken?

For Christianity.stackexchange.com, my religious background:

  • Grew up in a Protestant, evangelical, nondenominational "Bible Church" (-1990)
  • earned a M.Div at a Baptist Seminary (2008) and pastored a very small Baptist church (2004 - 2008)
  • Served in an Episcopal Church, and yes I did that site. (2008 - 2013)
  • Back to a Baptist church that has a true passion for breaking down the barriers of church so as to focus on the original mission of the church - namely to bring Jesus to a dying world.

Welcome to C.SE, and we are so happy to have more female perspectives! When you get the chance, I invite you to check out how we are different than other sites, but I heartily welcome you!

These are good references to make a case, but a little organization and better tying back to the original question would help. Welcome to C.SE, btw!

@Ovi We don't do pastoral care questions here, but please let me assure you, every mature Christian has struggled with this question at some point. I can't remember how many times I was "saved." That you are struggling says that you care and deeply love your Creator. Those are words I would tell anyone. But most importantly, I would remind you that is why God tells us to be in community - so that the lives of men around us can encourage us to continue in that. God loves you!

Welcome to C.SE, and I invite you to check out how we are different than many other sites. If you could identify the tradition in which these statements are made (e..g what denomination) that would improve this answer.

comment Why is Rome the holy city?
Exceedingly minor quibble with an altogether wonderful answer- the Temple was destroyed in 70AD, and many of the residents expelled at the same time, but the city itself survived until 125AD, at which point the Romans completely razed all the buildings and streets.

The one viable question I see is this: "If God is all-knowing and unable to change, why does he change his mind after the Flood?" Everything else is simply too much. You are asking for a book and a lifetime's work - or else, you're ranting.

Welcome to C.SE. I'd invite you to see how we are different. I'm having difficulty seeing how this actually answers the question.
