Software Developer, part-time pastor, and I raise chickens. Who can't love a chicken?

For Christianity.stackexchange.com, my religious background:

  • Grew up in a Protestant, evangelical, nondenominational "Bible Church" (-1990)
  • earned a M.Div at a Baptist Seminary (2008) and pastored a very small Baptist church (2004 - 2008)
  • Served in an Episcopal Church, and yes I did that site. (2008 - 2013)
  • Back to a Baptist church that has a true passion for breaking down the barriers of church so as to focus on the original mission of the church - namely to bring Jesus to a dying world.

@Blankman Welcome to C.SE! When you get the chance, please check out our tour and specifically How we are different than other sites. What's going on is that we are looking for a perspective - thanks for understanding.

Welcome to C.SE! When you get the chance, please check out our tour and specifically How we are different than other sites. While I agree with everything you say, typically we aren't looking for personal opinion here, but rather sourced Scripture, Tradition, or other theological statements. This is well written, and I look forward to more, but it would be better with sources.

Welcome to C.SE! When you get the chance, please check out our tour and specifically How we are different than other sites. This is a really good first question. It might be better if you would link to context so that others can help ferret out the meaning, but this is wonderful. +1

Welcome to C.SE! When you get the chance, please check out our tour and specifically How we are different than other sites. I'll admit - I'm torn, because this is actually amazingly good information, and it is closely related to the topic at hand. My problem though, is that it's on the border of being an answer but not quite smack on. I wonder if you could maybe develop this further along the lines of "The case for stauros being stake or cross..." But this really is good.

@siphiuel I've edited your question down to the parts that really are most on topic here. We focus on academic questions, and yours is a pretty good one. The parts I edited out all fall under "pastoral advice," "shopping list questions," and pleasentries - all of which are nice, but not really our focus here.
