The edit makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying!

comment Father is invisible eternal spirit only?
What you've said isn't lds belief - what page did you find that on? And did you mean to tag your question 'lds'?

comment Is the tree of “knowledge of good and evil” the same as the “tree of life”?
@Bye In general, I don't always vote up questions I answer because I don't believe the question to be well-formed, but that doesn't always mean it's undeserving of an answer, especially if I think I have an answer. (This Q/A combo is good though. +1 to both.)

comment Why was the gift of the Holy Ghost not operative during Christ's mortal ministry according to LDS doctrine?
Not likely, as the Bible Dictionary was written in the latter days. And only about 30 years ago, at that.

comment Are the apostles the final authority on interpreting the scriptures in the LDS church and how can I get their interpretations of specific passages?
@curiousdannii Okay, but I still think the edits were improvements.

Just FYI, since the question is tagged lds, you don't need to awkwardly attach "Mormons" into the title. ;)

comment Mormons, for how long can I be forgiven of all my sins?
@ColeTrumbo There isn't a universal answer to "How long can a person go without sinning?".

comment Are prospective Mormons allowed to be baptized during their menstruation periods?
I'm confused; (living) converts aren't baptized in temples. And what does this have to do with Mormonism specifically?

comment What is the basis for the LDS belief that religious truth is confirmed by what you feel?
So you don't feel love or joy? Don't you feel goodness in or for something or maybe gentleness from a person? I'm glad you see what I mean about peace, though, since that is probably the most important one of them. (Matt's opinion: only God can give us peace; it is not something that can be manufactured. And peace is probably the most common feeling, from my experience in talking with lots of people about it, when learning spiritual truth.)

comment What is the basis for the LDS belief that religious truth is confirmed by what you feel?
@alvoutila In the specific video you linked to, Elder Ballard is saying that the truth of the Book of Mormon cannot be proven scientifically; the evidence is personal and spiritual, and it comes through the Holy Spirit.

@curiousdannii: I'm not sure I understand your question; Galatians says pretty clearly that the feelings are the fruit of the Spirit. And I know Elder Ballard is talking about spiritual fruit because he's talking about prayers being answered in connection with seeking confirmation of spiritual/religious truth. Though feelings are not the only way God answers prayers, that is typically how prayers about spiritual truth are answered (Moroni 10:4).
