How does the Bible say I should find a mate? @Flimzy: Injecting the word "Bible" doesn't make the question on topic. I just don't see how this question relates to the subject of Christianity. |

What does the Bible say about ecology? @djeikyb: I agree. This question is really broad, leaving the users only guessing what type of information would actually be helpful to the author. Perhaps if you had a much more specific problem you are trying to solve, you could provide a bit more detail. |

Will suicide keep me out of Heaven? @djeikyb: Your objection lies with the (potentially) poor answers, not with the question. Christianity most definitely has doctrinal teachings regarding suicide and Heaven. If someone's answer is helpful and authoritative (i.e. cites those teachings), vote it up. If an answer is simply a rant or laced with opinion, anecdotal stories, or hearsay, vote it down. As asked, this questions seems reasonably objective, or at least meets the guidelines of good subjective . |

Why won't God heal amputees? This might be a good question for a discussion forum. Christianity SE should try and steer clear of a lot of "Why doesn't God do [X]" and other random imponderables. Questions should represent real problems and questions about Christianity, not just imponderables, hypotheticals, or requests for opinions and discussion. @Richard was right; A question asking perhaps for documented examples of [X] from the bible. But, as asked, this is a bit of a rant along the lines of "Why does God let bad things happen to good people?" Good question, just not a good match for this site. |

How can one overcome lustful desires? This is a good question, but it's not a good for this type of Q&A. Stack Exchange is designed to create an authoritative collection of answers to canonical questions about Christianity. I can see this being asked of a congregation to share interesting discussion an through-provoking stories. But this type of story-sharing and communing isn't really what this site is about. "We expect answers to generally involve facts, references, or specific expertise; this question will likely solicit opinion, debate, arguments, polling, or extended discussion." This is better suited to a discussion forum. |

What can we do to grow closer to God? It's a good question, just not really a good fit for this type of Q&A. Stack Exchange is designed to create an authoritative collection of answers to canonical questions about Christianity. I can envision a congregation sitting around with this being the question of the day. It would likely result in lots of interesting discussion and revelation, but that style of reflection and communing isn't really what this site is about. I hope you can find such a congregation or online forum for your discussions, but Stack Exchange is not a good support group nor discussion forum. Sorry. |
