I have no real opinion on the book of Revelation, or "End times theology" as it is a subject I have never studied.

What books can you recommend that would give me a good introduction to this topic? The ideal book will present a number of popular views in a balanced fashion, so that the reader can draw his own conclusions.

I don't believe a book presenting a number of popular views in a balanced fashion exists, you'll probably have to wade through a bunch of highly POV books. Someone will surely soon be around to suggest them. – dancek Aug 27 '11 at 7:57

@Caleb: They aren't on other SE sites. But if we want to make them OT here, we can certainly make that decision. – Flimzy Aug 27 '11 at 20:31
@Flimzy: You should state that position and maybe cite some examples on other sites on the meta topic and see how it goes. – Caleb Aug 27 '11 at 20:38

I know you said a book that has different viewpoints, but here's one that is free online (that's why I'm telling you about it). Days of Vengeance There is also Last Day's Madness, which is not specifically about Revelation, but about the end times. I don't know of any book that are free online that are of the opposing viewpoint, but if I come across one, I will definitely post it.

An Introduction to Revelation: A Pathway to Interpretation

This book provides different interpretations but also gives the opinion of the writer. But you can find for sure different interpretations. I think you can read it and take an idea, then search for each interpretation separately.
