Christianity Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for committed Christians, experts in Christianity and those interested in learning more. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've heard many differing opinions on this subject, so I decided to ask here: Is it possible for a truly saved Christian to lose his/her salvation? I want to emphasize the importance of truly saved. I know that this question is similar (it's also closed). I am asking a different question. I'm asking for verses that support and oppose the view that a true Christian cannot lose their salvation.

I'm pretty sure this is covered by these three questions... – El'endia Starman May 8 '12 at 17:16

@El'endiaStarman, perhaps not. The first question is closed, the second question is about the believer's ability to walk away from (not lose) salvation, and the third question is about interpretations of specific Bible verses. – Eric May 8 '12 at 17:37

However, as the question is worded, it is a bit too broad, and discussion oriented to be answered well. @daviesgeek, perhaps you can focus it a bit? – Eric May 8 '12 at 17:38

This question has the same flaw as this one, and as such will likely become a vote-war unless it is changed to ask for answers from a specific tradition. – Flimzy May 8 '12 at 17:39
I love how that first question is +17 and closed for non-constructive and yet it's referenced here since it is the same question. – user1054 May 8 '12 at 19:45
