Ok, so many people say "Everything happens for a reason" or "God works in mysterious ways" both normally relating to GOD. Now I have also heard and it does make sense that GOD gives us free will. If he didn't there would be no point in us his creation praising him as we would be just "robots".

So my question is: Which is correct? Does GOD change things in our life or do we have total free will?

FYI, the question of predestination vs. free will (or Arminianism) is a very, very old question. This represents the biggest split amongst and even within denominations. – Affable Geek Dec 9 '11 at 0:45

I think you'll need to provide a theological framework in which to answer this question. There are Christian doctrines on both sides of this debate. As such, it will be impossible to provide a "correct answer" as your question is worded. – Flimzy Dec 9 '11 at 7:20
I think Flimzy already pointed out the main issue with this question as written and that is that this site is not a place to provide "which doctrine is correct" on any of the issues that are debated in Christianity. What we can do if you care to re-frame your question is either provide an overview of different views or detail how a particular doctrinal traditions perspective on this issue.
