According to Reformed Christianity, what is "grace" (χάρις)?

Hi, can you elaborate on your question a bit more? Unfortunately the concept of grace may be different for different groups within Christianity, is there are particular group you are interested in hearing from? Or perhaps a certain theologian? Unfortunately, like interpreting any piece of literature, there are multiple interpretations of a word or concept described in the text. Unfortunately, this question is dramatically broad, since there is Common Grace, Prevenient Grace, Irresistible Grace, Actual Grace, Divine Grace etc. I'm going to close this until we can establish a doctrine or denomination. – Richard Nov 2 '11 at 12:02

I didn't know there were so many types of grace. I never read about common grace etc in the Bible, I only read about grace. Sorry for asking then. – Zealumble Nov 2 '11 at 17:25

@DJClayworth the idea of specifying doctrinal preferences has been filtered through meta. An alternate attempt at framing questions has not.
