Just curious.for these play strongly in my beliefs......but as a student of religious studies Christianity's view on this has piqued my interest. I've heard two sides of the story but would appreciate the biblical view!

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:

  • "Questions seeking pastoral advice are off-topic here; your spiritual problems are too important to be left in the hands of random Internet people. See: Pastoral Advice Questions" – Affable Geek, Caleb

By "Ascended Masters" do you mean a person? – Decrypted Jul 11 '14 at 3:33
Welcome to the site! This next is just standard to help new visitors avoid misunderstanding the site (as I did at first.) As a new visitor, I'd recommend checking out the following posts, which are meant to help newcomers "learn the ropes": the help page and How we are different than other sites?. – David Jul 11 '14 at 3:36
Also, more specific to this question, I think you're on the safe side with this question, but in general, it's not really valid to ask what Christianity's view is on very many topics, just because there is such a wide variety of beliefs within the scope of Christianity. See Is it valid to ask if “Christianity” teaches anything?. david brainerd's answer is certainly the most orthodox answer, but even within Christianity, you'll find individuals and possibly groups who disagree. – David Jul 11 '14 at 3:39
@David Stratton, I was going to just ask from what denominational viewpoint the answer was desired originally ans not answer, but then I saw "biblical view" and I doubt if there are any groups that disagree they'd dare try to argue the Bible is with them on this one. Its be too big of a stretch even on the most fringiest of fringes. – david brainerd Jul 11 '14 at 3:56

The Biblical answer is No, those things are not Ok.

Isaiah 8:19 (NKJV)

And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?

Leviticus 19:31 (NKJV)

‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.
