Once you accept Jesus Christ as Savior what happens to you if you unintentionally undergo a loss of faith in his divinity years later? You still believe in God and love are just struggling with the intellectual concept of Jesus as God's Son. What happens to you? What can you do to receive your faith back?

This question appears to be off-topic. The users who voted to close gave this specific reason:

  • "Questions seeking pastoral advice are off-topic here; your spiritual problems are too important to be left in the hands of random Internet people. See: Pastoral Advice Questions" – Wikis, David, Dan, Affable Geek
If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

Welcome, I had to vote to close because it is primarily opinion based. You could reword this to ask for specific. Biblical passages. Please check out the tour page. – Wikis Oct 6 '13 at 15:52
You become a Jehovah's Witness? Look, there are denominations that explicitly reject the divinity of Christ. – Double U Oct 6 '13 at 15:55
Hi, and welcome to Christianity SE! This is probably a question better asked of a pastor or other mentor you trust - I'm not sure trusting an anonymous group of strangers is the best idea for this kind of question. – Ryan Frame Oct 6 '13 at 20:04
This question would be fine for this site if you would specify only one thing: Who's opinion you want. Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc. Pick your favorite then edit your question to let us know. We will then answer from that perspective. As it is now, a lot of different opinions exist that can answer this question "correctly." – fredsbend Oct 7 '13 at 7:10

What can you do to receive your faith back?

"So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17)

Here is a resource to help you regarding your struggle with the divinity of Christ...

May the Lord bless you as you study His word!

This really has nothing to do with the question in particular. The question asks about the loss of faith in Jesus' divinity, not loss of faith in Jesus. As such, I would include denominations that do not believe in Jesus' divinity. – Double U Oct 6 '13 at 18:14

Jenine, that would not make sense or be possible. As Jesus said

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

So we cannot go to the Father or God unless we go through Jesus. This is the number 1 basis people fail to understand about God. Many people claim to know God but they absolutely have no IDEA who he is. People don't even know his Love or attributes. The only way to know God is through Jesus. Because he is the exact representation of the Father.

If you accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour and you backslide, it is fine because it is up to Jesus to get you back on your feet. "he leads you on the right path, for his name sake" psalms 23 Lord is my Shepard.

Jesus is our Shepard, we hear his voice and he directs us were to go. He will not allow 1 out of 99 to perish as John 3:16 says. The Will of Jesus Christ is this: that whoever Father gives to him, that he should not lose that person.

So do not beat yourself up because if you did accept Jesus as your Lord, you will be saved.

If you CANNOT accept or understand the deity of Jesus as being God then you will have problems knowing God and his Love. You need to thoroughly study the bible: New Testament and understand who Jesus is. Old Testament has MANY references of God being Jesus.

GOD consist of 3 persons- the Father, the Son who his the Word of Father and the Holy Spirit who is the spirit of Son/Father. When Father speaks "let there be light", Jesus creates the Light because

Colossians 1:16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.

They CANNOT be separated, Father has authority, the Son and Spirit submits to his authority. Father is completely Light, The word/Son was sent to Earth as a human, he represents what the Father is.

John 14:8 8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

Jenine, the only way to totally understand the concept of Jesus being God is for you to be shown the Scriptures were they point out Jesus is in fact God.

God is a title, God consist of 3 deities in 1. So Father can be referred to as God, Jesus referred to as God or Spirit referred to as God.

"let US make man in our own image". Please think about this quote many times from Genesis 1.

if you want to discuss the bible about Jesus being God or Not, please let me know.

God less

I really like that you take your time and give detailed answers with scriptures as reference but this doesn't answer the question. The question wasn't why is Jesus divine it was can lost faith be restored. Also, you should really check out the about page and Brothers, we are not Christians. – crownjewel82 Oct 7 '13 at 14:59
the question was answered. You cannot separate Jesus from Father, or say I believe in God. If you do not know who Jesus is, you cannot know who God is. To know God starts with Jesus. You cannot say I am saved and then go back to your old ways, that does not justify someone being saved. – Xino Oct 7 '13 at 19:53
