This question already has an answer here:
I don't mean for this to turn into a debate. I am Christian and am not a scientist, but I really want to know the answer to this. This has been bugging me for years. I first came across this dispute when watching a movie about Darwin and then again a few time elsewhere. Before that it had even not crossed my mind that this was even a question. I don't even know if this is something most Christian's believe or if just a few individuals.
As far as I can tell there is nothing in the scriptures that disproves evolution and as far as I can tell the two complement each other pretty nicely. The only thing I've ever heard is something about Adam being the first man and being made from the earth. But evolution also says that man evolves from the earth (single celled organisms crawling out of the earth) and the first man very well could have been named Adam, the same Adam mentioned in the Bible. Before him there were just cavemen (or Homo-whatever) which are not man.
Could you please tell me what why this is a question? Is it just the Adam thing or is there more to it?
ADDED: And needless to say with Gods hand in directing the evolution thus it being God that made man and not just crazy randomness.
