Jewish Feasts

Unleavened Bread

First Fruits

Harvest (Pentecost)

Day of Atonement

It has been brought to my attention that there are seven Jewish Feasts where the first three foreshadow Christ’s work of redemption and the fourth foreshadowed the coming of the Holy Spirit. The final three are to foreshadow the second coming of Christ. Many believe that when these types are fulfilled they are so done on the actual dates of the festivals.

Here is one such site called the Lamb and Lion Ministries.

Is this common orthodox understanding and on what basis are these claims substantiated?

Many good questions generate some degree of opinion based on expert experience, but answers to this question will tend to be almost entirely based on opinions, rather than facts, references, or specific expertise. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

I think it is, in fact, fairly common among diligent students of the Bible. Larkin has some writings about it here: Zola Levitt also has some stuff. Unfortunately, this really isn't a good question for this site, in my opinion. Why it's not talked about more is going to be answered mostly on speculation. – Narnian Jul 22 '13 at 19:57
Perhaps you could ask a question regarding the basis for why the feasts are considered to foreshadow the advents of Christ. There is already one for Passover. – Narnian Jul 22 '13 at 20:03

There are scholars who relate the Seven Jewish Feasts with Christ. Since the question here is on the advents of Christ, I will stick to the advents only.

(My answer is based on a sermon I heard in GOD TV channel)

The advents/events related to Christ may have connections with the Three Annual Festivals as follows.

Passover and Crucifixion (March/April): Jesus Christ was crucified during the Passover which symbolizes Jesus as the Passover lamb.

Pentecost and Holy Spirit (May/June): The Holy Spirit was poured down on the Day of Pentecost, which symbolizes the harvest of souls which started from the Pentecost day where 3000 people were baptized through the message gave by Peter.

Tabernacles and Second Coming (Sep/Oct): Since the important events related to Christ were already fulfilled on the first and second annual festivals, it is speculated that the Second coming of Christ may happen during the Feast of Tabernacles, the third annual festival, which falls on the month of September or October.

Hence, the Second advent of Christ may happen during the Feast of Tabernacles or Booths, as per the speculation.
