A lot of people ask forgiveness for all the sins they will do during the day in thought, word and deed. What hope is there in it? Will our lives never become better? Is it meant to be that we sin our entire live and then when we die and we are perfect?

The hope is that we will we will take on the "image of Christ" as we walk closer to him. Consider this verse:

1 John 3:2-3 KJV 2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

So, while we will not achieve total perfection on Earth, that doesn't stop us from this hope.

Isaiah 66:2 NIV

Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the LORD. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.

The lord will look with favor upon those people that are constantly convicted of their sin and attempt to avoid it.

Hebrews 10:26-27 (NIV)

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

The lord will have no compassion or mercy on you if you continue to deliberately sin without regard to the truth.

1 John 5:18

We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.

1 John 3:9

No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

1 John 3:6

No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

But do not continue to sin so that grace may increase!
